WHY I SERVE

My name is Chris Miller and I ask for your vote for the Campbell Union School Board on November 8th, 2022. I am a high school assistant principal who wants to continue to bring an educator’s perspective to the Campbell Union School Board.

If re-elected, I will continue to work with my colleagues on the board, the superintendent, and community stakeholders to ensure that we improve educational outcomes for all students in CUSD. This will give our students the critical thinking skills needed to succeed in high school, college, and beyond.

As a Governing Board Member, I have supported policies that invest in the success of our students as well as their families. This includes district initiatives related to early childhood literacy, as well as partnerships with external experts to provide parents with the training they need to be involved in their student's educational journey. I have also supported investments that increased digital broadband access for students and their families throughout our school district, a critical need in today's society. If re-elected, I am excited to continue and build upon this work.

By working together, we can ensure that all students in Campbell are setup for success. I ask for your vote because I believe my nine years of classroom experience, as well as the past four years serving our community on the board, give me the unique ability to bring all education stakeholders together to move our students, and thereby our community, forward.

Thank you.

MEET CHRIS

Chris Miller is a proud educator, community organizer and social justice advocate. After graduating from Seattle University in 2008, Chris entered the Peace Corps, where he improved educational access for low income indigenous communities in South America. Inspired by his experiences in the Peace Corps, and wanting to be an agent of change in his local community, Chris decided to go back to school and earn a Masters in Education and has been an elementary school educator for the past eight years. These experiences, as well as his own upbringing, have taught him the values of hard work, perseverance, and a strong education.

Chris serves on the Campbell Union School Board because he wants to improve education access for all children who live in CUSD. As a public educator, he has seen firsthand the importance of teaching kids the critical thinking skills and competency skills that are required in our demanding technology driven 21st century economy.

In his free time, Chris enjoys hiking the trails in the Santa Cruz highlands, as well as playing basketball. He is also an avid sports fan and likes to attend Sharks, Warriors, and Earthquakes games. Chris recently got married to his lovely wife Deborah and they look forward to raising their family in the Campbell community.
